Family Table Inspiration

Yesterday I wrote a post about the importance of the family table, and how I have been reflecting on the beauty of gathering together for mealtime.

All of this reflecting has caused me to have a slight infatuation with dinner tables & place settings.  Most of the photos I found were tables meant for parties or weddings, but I was looking for ideas I could use at our dinner table every night . . . or at least once a week . . .

Wouldn't that be neat to do with your family?
Each night for dinner, or perhaps one special night of the week, you get the kids to help you set the table for a beautiful family gathering!?

So here are a few beauties to swoon over . . .

I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about this table from Soule Momma!  I am pretty sure our dining room would be too small for this table, but I would seriously consider putting something like this in our living room! :)

Both this table and the one above have DIY instructions with them for how to create your own farmhouse table!  Yea!  I want one! :)

The weather is still warm enough around here for eating outside! I love this outside table idea!

Another sweet little outdoor setting!

We do not have oranges, but how sweet to put a table like this out in the orchard/garden area!

Well, I hope you've gleaned some inspiration today!  Join me tomorrow to see some real life examples of tables I've decorated, using just what I have around my home! :)

  1. Gorgeous tables! I seriously think I have a thing for them... I could have 100!

I have a lovely farm table from reclaimed antique English pine. One day, I passed by and saw hearts carved into it... my 3 year old had used her fingernail to make her mark. I would have freaked out if I had not earlier read a devotional by Nancy Wilson who said all those marks on her family table where the history of their family... memories of meals together and life shared in communion (not in those exact words). I did discipline my daughter gently, but I wasn't really mad after reflecting on it. Now they've faded and I can't find them... and I'd give anything to have them back!
