Welcome to Kyria's Nursery!
Here is a little twin bed, so if I wanna take a nap during the day while she sleeps I am good to go!Also, my favorite things in this picture: The canvas painting - Kyria has Grammie to thank for that one! Also, the crocheted blankets! We received several, and love them all! I do adore this one with her name on it though!
Does this fabric banner look familiar!? Oh, I love the way this turned out! Especially since the angled walls usually make it difficult to decorate! Another favorite: The vintage vanity in the corner! This has been in Skyler's family for years! We painted and antiqued it, and I think it fits perfectly in her little shabby chic room!
Yea! We got this Jenny Lind crib for $25 on Craigslist, and painted it this beautiful blue! After looking at many a bedding set on etsy, all the ones I fell in love with were WAY TOO pricey! Fortunately, we found this one at Target (online), and it was perfect - GREAT price too! Plus did you notice the matching twin comforter & sham! Perfect! Yet another favorite: the chandelier! We got this at Lowes, and Skyler put it up!
And in this corner . . . another project by Daddy! Seriously this built in book shelf is brilliant! I will show before and after pics of this tomorrow, but I was anxious to show ya the nursery first! Despite the fact that we don't have very many books for Kyria yet (notice the 1/4-1/2 row of books :S), I know she will be getting lots! For now, I simply filled up the space with a bunch of stuff I didn't have a set place for yet! This will most defintely change, but you get the idea! Favorites: The yellow dresser - another Craigslist find! I painted it yellow, and Skyler put on the crystal knobs! Also our sweet friend Jeri made her name out of this beaded floral . . .???. . . lol, I don't know what the official name of that stuff is, but it's beautiful!
Here is a shot of the decorations we used for this angled wall. The flower poofs were also made by sweet Jeri for the baby shower! You might remember them? The silver butterflies were also a gift, and they fit wonderfully in this whimsical room! The closet was already here, but Skyler fixed up the doors, and I painted and antiqued it! Finally, notice all the bows? I still have some more to make, but we are well on our way!
I hope you love her room as much as we do! As a baby, I don't think she will really care what her room looks like, but we tried to create a room that she can grow into! I don't know about you, but I would have kept this room on into college! . . . well parts of it at least!
So tell me . . . what do ya think!? Did you have any favorite things about the nursery that you particularly liked!? I think I am going to pin this room (on Pinterest), cuz I know how many rooms I looked at on there to brainstorm ideas. Perhaps these pictures could help someone else!? If you have a Pinterest account and liked this room, perhaps you could pin it as well!? Thanks in advance for those of you who do! :)
One last thing! . . . Don't forget about the GIVEAWAY going on for the Lilla Rose hair item! I posted this yesterday, but so far only 3 people are entered! That means you have a serious shot of winning! Check it out!

Aww, so super-cute! :) Definitely one of the fanciest baby set-ups I've seen thus far. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! I especially love the fabric banner you made (I pinned it from your other post.) Also, I'm jealous of the vanity and the built ins! Awesome! What a blessed girl little Kyria is to have such an awesome mamma! :)
ReplyDeleteWOW. I'm ridiculously impressed! You certainly have a nac/talent for decorating!
ReplyDeleteI loved everything about it, really liked that you painted the bed blue(even though you're having a girl) take care and enjoy every moment! LillyCarlson
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I LOVE everything. This is the cutest nursery I've seen. I love shabby chic. Seriously, awesome job!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE it! (But you already knew that!) Pinned one of the pictures of the banner!
ReplyDeleteThe pennant banner on the angled ceiling is great. and I like the crib in the middle of the floor. Also, the twin bed is a great idea too! I recognize the wall hanging from PB, so that was quite a splurge but perfect for the space!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute, girl! You did awesome :)
ReplyDeleteKyria is one lucky girl. What a beautiful nursery, Megan! You did a wonderful job with all the little details. I did want to let you know if you haven't heard already, that if your crib is a drop-sides crip those are now unsafe for babies. I think they are outlawed in the state of KY. I LOVE Jinny Lind cribs so it breaks my heart, but that is what the latest safety information says. Also, you aren't supposed to use bumper pads either, which I think is crazy!! Some of that stuff you just have to ignore and do what is best for you. Anyway, LOVE the nursery and am excited for you!
ReplyDeleteYea! Thanks so much everyone for the encouragement! I am glad you like it!
ReplyDeleteMegan - Thanks for the info! We did actually know that about Jenny Lind beds . . . however, this one doesn't have the ability to move down because it didn't come with hardware, and Skyler made it to wear the side won't drop down. He's so handy! His mom - who visits children often as a social worker, and is very careful about following all the safety regulations even approves! :) I had heard that about the bumpers, but I think it could be just as dangerous to not have them . . .Kyria will be sleeping downstairs with us, in her bassinet/pack-n-play at first anyway so I am not too concerned :) Thanks again for all the safety info though, and I appreciate your take on it! :)
AFG,
Megan
